A colleague at work S tells this hilarious story of thievery 101. A few thieves landed on her roof last night. Neighbours were shouting, the police came and these guys went from terrace to terrace over the same four houses. The police stayed downstairs and shouted out to the thieves to come down! S and her family were armed with lamps....yes, lamps, presumably to kill the thieves with enlightenment, in case they broke through the terrace door.
These thieves were in thief school - learning course 101. Because they hid in one of the terraces until first light, thought the police had left and tamely came down to be escorted to the police station. Not only did they steal nothing, they actually left their slippers at the house they came to steal from! Laughed guts out at work today. We really need those long belly laughs every now and then!
